Abstract

Incandescent gas-fires are provided with a radiant surface formed of two windings of asbestos thread on a metal frame, the flame passing between the windings. The form shown comprises a metal frame d, Figs. 3 and 4, with sides d<1> having a close-wound vertical spiral e and an open-wound horizontal spiral e' of asbestos. The radiant thus formed is secured to the metal reflector a of the stove and heated by the tubular burner c beneath it.
