Abstract

172,237. Costanzo, C. Jan. 12, 1921. Fire-bars.-Detachable cup-like elements 2, Fig. 1, are bolted to the tops of fire-bars 1 to support the bed of fuel. The elements retain ashes and may be fitted in recesses in the bars 1. as shown in Fig. 2, or may be attached to ordinary fire-bars. The edges of the cups are narrow so as to bear a relatively small proportion to the total area of the grate.
