Abstract

172,232. Alley, S. E. Jan. 3, 1921. Vertical boilers; annular boilers.-In a boiler of the kind in which inner and outer vertical cylindrical shells enclose an annular water space, and inclined straight water-tubes extend across the inner shell, the ends of the water-tubes are secured in two series of landings L, M, each in the form of helical depressions. The group of tubes P extending between the top of the landings M and the bottom of the landings L lie at the greatest angle to the axis of the shells, the next group R lying at a smaller angle and the group S extending between the bottom of the landings M and the top of the landings L at the smallest angle. Specification 112,222 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
