Abstract

Controlling.-The unused part of the fluid discharged from a pump or compressor 10 is bypassed back to an injector 14 and used to draw in fresh fluid from the inlet 12. The injector, which is preferably constructed as described in Specification 117,612, is, to begin with, shut off by a valve 35, closed by weights 39 on a bellows 37, and fluid enters the pump through a pipe 15. As the load increases, the pressure on the delivery side increases until the valve 35 is opened, when the injector comes into action. A check valve 16 prevents backward flow of fluid from the injector. An adjustable conical valve may be fitted in the throat of the injector, or, as shown in Fig. 3, the valve 35 may be prolonged and screwed into a conical member 42, which is thus adjusted automatically together with the valve 35. By turning a hand wheel 51 on a squared shank 45 the relative positions of the valves 35 and 42 are adjusted.
