Abstract
170,393. Strong, W. J. H. July 19, 1920. Air-heating stoves; drying- stoves.-Apparatus in which the gaseous products from a lamp mixed with a large proportion of air are forced by a fan through a drying - chamber comprises a drying-chamber 13, Fig. 1, open at the ends and communicating with a casing 11 containing a kerosene stove 29 and the atmosphere. The casing is open at the ends opposite to the drying- chamber and the stove is enclosed by guard-plates 38 secured to the casing. The stove is placed on the opposite side of the casing to the fan 12 which is adjustably supported outside the casing and in line with the drying-chamber. 'The fan is driven by an air motor 44 heated by a kerosene lamp 45 and forces a current of air through the hot air and gases ascending from the stove and through the drying- chamber. In a modification, the stove is replaced by a gas, gasoline or oil burner.
