Abstract

170,362. Mascord, G. W. July 14, 1920. Lantern screens.-Lamps, especially for motor vehicles, are provided with front plates a, b having frosted or other semi-transparent bands a, b<1> alternating with plain bands a<2>, b<2>. The plates are arranged so that the frosted bands a<1> of the plate a are immediately opposite the plain bands. b<2> of the plate b and vice versa. The plates are supported by brackets d, e which are secured to the outer plate a and support the inner plate b, the latter being adjustable relatively to the former by a screw d<1>. The brackets e are mounted on trunnions carried by the lamp frame, and one trunnion is provided with a lever f so that a slight rotational movement may be imparted to the plates, the casing being slotted for the passage of the screw d<1>. In addition, the plates may be adjusted vertically relatively to one another by a rack-and-pinion device.
