Abstract

170,203. Cowieson, F. D. Oct. 29, 1920. Steps.-For shifting the lower footboard of the steps of a motor vehicle towards the vehicle when the door is closed, the lower movable board 4 is connected to the door 6 through a bell-crank lever 7 on the step-frame land links 9, 10. In order that the board 4 may not participate in the entire movement of the door, the link 9 is slotted to receive a pin 12 on the door, which, when opened, moves the board 4 from the vertical to the horizontal position, when it rests on a stop 13.
