Abstract
169,721. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Oct. 4, 1920, [Convention date]. Addition to 158,873. Sparking-preventing devices.-Relates to a development of the method described in the parent Specification for sparklessly breaking an inductive circuit A and for destroying its residual magnetism. The Figure illustrates the position of the switches when no current is flowing. The main circuit is made or broken by moving the handle J to the left or right. On make, the spring h moves the rod H upwards and bridges the gap h', h', the coil h<2> then hnlding on. On break, the spring d<2> forces up the rod D and completes circuits C and E respectively. The circuit E energizing the coil b<3> raises the rod B and actually breaks the main circuit, and an induction current passes from the circuit A through the circuit C so that sparking is prevented. The rod H, however, being now released, a circuit is completed, viz., positive, F, A, G, E, negative, which ensures a current passing through the inductive circuit A to destroy its residual magnetism. The rod D now drops breaking circuit E to allow the rod B to drop so that the position illustrated is restored.
