Abstract

169,653. Camillis, L., and Pearson, A. J. Dec. 29, 1920. Brake mechanism. - Relates to means for mounting roller-lever brakes upon the handle-bars of cycles &c., wherein the eye 1 for the brake lever is secured to the shank 10 of a connecting-member which has an elongated head 7 adapted to be passed through a slot 6 in the handle-bar and to be secured by rotating it to bring the head against the side of the bar adjacent to the slot. According to the invention, the head 7 is formed only slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the bar. The eye 1 is made from a single piece of metal, which is recessed at 2 to fit around the handle-bar and is perforated at 5 to receive the shank 10. The recess 2 may be plain, or there may be a projection 13 adapted to fit, as shown, within the slot in the handle-bar.
