Abstract

169,322. Armstrong, J. July 12, 1920. Addition to 1188/14. Endless-chain machines; cooling-apparatus; heating-apparatus; feeding; moulds; moulding fuel.-The co-operating pair of mould chains described in the parent Specification are each furnished with half-mould elements adapted to interlock automatically with one another as the chains move together, and are also subjected to a cooling operation prior to separation. Each half-mould element is furnished with a projection y and recess a adapted to interlock, as shown in Fig. 2. The chains m, Fig. 1, pass beneath hoppers b furnished with stirrers g and move together through a flue heated by burners n. A stream of cooling air is directed on to the moulds, prior to their separation, through flues s controlled by valves u, u<1>.
