Massage.-Apparatus for cleaning or massaging the teeth and gums, or for vibratory treatment thereof, comprises two rubber or other pads, rollers, sets of balls, or brushes mounted on two jaws of metal, bone, or celluloid connected together at their lower ends by an integral flexible portion, or by an attached bow spring, or jointed together like a pair of scissors and held in the open or in the closed position by a spring. Figs. 1, 3, 6, 7, 9, 19, and 21 show some of the various forms described. In these figures jaws a, b carrying solid or inflated pads j, rollers k, balls m, or brushes r are connected by integral portions or attached springs c, or by a pivot joint e. In the pivoted form, Fig. 3, a spring g normally holds the jaws in the open position. The brushes r, Fig. 19, are held in position by clips q<1>, and the jaws a, b in this form are detachably held in a holder a', b<1>, c<1>. Hemispherical pads may replace the brushes.
