Manure, sand, and like distributors. - In apparatus in which sand, gravel, manure, &c. is distributed from an ordinary vehicle by means of an attachment comprising a shoot board, a rotary feeder, and a rotary distributor, the blades of the feeder are made adjustable and a tail-board is mounted in such a way as to form, with the shoot board, an adjustable delivery opening on the discharge side of the feeler. In the apparatus shown, the shoot C carries the distributor E and is detachably mounted on the body A of a motorvehicle, the inner end being level with the bottom of the vehicle. The feeder D, D<1> is also mounted on the detachable shoot C, and a hinged tail-hoard F rests on side members F<2> which are fixed on the shoot C and detachably connected to the body A. The size of the delivery opening is regulated by adjusting the tail-board by hand-levers H and notched segments H<1>. The feeder blades D' are adjustable radially and angularly on the shaft D and may be arranged to feed more material to one part of the distributor than another. Their shanks pass through the shaft and are secured by nuts on the ends. The distributor E is a cylindrical wire brush mounted above the curved part of the shoot C in adjustable spring-controlled bearings. It may be provided with a guard. The brush is driven from the feeder shaft bv chain gearing, and the feeder shaft from the road wheel Q by chain gearing and a clutch controlled by a lever U operated from the driver's seat. The distributor is driven in the same direction as the feeder and at a greater angular velocity. The gearing may be changed to vary the discharge. Deflecting-baffles V are detachably and adjustably mounted on the shoot C, so that the sand &c. may be spread over a wide strip. The shoot and distributor may be wider than the vehicle body. A rib W forms one side of a trough into which the sand &c. may be thrown by hand.
