Sleepers, composite.-Means for imparting elasticity to a reinforced-concrete sleeper comprise dividing pieces A of oak, lead, or other material, set transversely in the concrete. The reinforcing rods B pass through the dividing pieces and are fitted with collars C of sheet lead or other material to protect them from moisture which might enter at the joints.
