Abstract

Moulds.-A moulding-machine for concrete building-blocks has two parts 10<a>, 10<b>, each consisting of two adjacent sides and fitting together at diagonally opposite corners so that the longitudinal axis of the mould is at an angle to that of the framework. The sides are moved outwards and upwards to release the cast block by means of two pairs of levers 5<a>, 5<b>, and 6<a>, 6<b>, each pair being pivotally connected by a common centre-pin mounted on the side frame 1, and actuated by depressing horizontal bars 8 which move on the legs of mounted U-shaped rods 9 and engage the levers by means of projections 7 working in slots 6'. The mould may be locked in the closed or open position by engaging projections 16 by means of recesses 17 in the levers 13, 14 operated by a connecting-rod 15. Simultaneous movement and correct registration are ensured by subsidiary levers 11, 12, and short levers 18 connected to the bars 8 by rods 19, and by a small pin on one part corner of the mould which engages a corresponding recess on the opposite corner.
