Locks, cases for; latches, sliding.-In a tubular mortise lock having a longitudinally divided casing, tongues 9<a> on the end plate 4, secured to the fixed part 2, engage slots 10<b> in the removable part 3, which is further secured to the end plate by means of a grub-screw passed through holes 14, 13 in the part 3 and end plate 4 respectively. Instead of employing a grub-screw, a spring tongue may be formed on the end plate 4, the upper end of which is adapted to engage over the rear edge of the part 3.
