167,035. Swinburne, F. R., Chalmers, T. E. B., and Beken, E. G. May 31, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Lanterns, glazing.-A removable cap A for securing the glass to a lamp is retained in position by a wire inserted endwise in an annular channel formed by a groove A<4> of semicircular cross-section in the cap, and a similar groove B<3> on the body of the lamp &c. Part of the groove A<4> is cut away, forming a slot A<5> for insertion of the wire D, and a projection B<4> is punched up in the groove B<3>. The cover A has a curved lip A<3> which presses on the rubber band C on the body, ensuring a firm grip of the wire in the grooves and preventing rattling. To disengage the members A and B, a piece of wire is inserted in the slot A<5> and pressed on one end of the wire D, causing its other end to ride over the projection B<4> and protrude from the slot A<5>, when it can be pulled out by pliers.
