Abstract

166,308. Milde, G. S. March 2, 1920. Paper pulp, forming yarns from.-In the manufacture of paper yarn, from pulp containing long fibres, the paper web therefrom produced on a Fourdrinier wire b, or it may be on a cylinder paper machine, and divided into strips, is transferred to the underside of a smooth apron e of linen or cotton cloth by means of a suct on box s, the forward edge s<2> of which is sloped diagonally of the wire, or stepped or otherwise arranged so that the strips are released from the apron c separately. The release of the strips to the roving-appliances may be facilitated by air pressure from a box p having its forward edge similarly sloped. In the Fourdrinier machine, the wire is sloped downwards, and the shaking-apparatus is omitted.
