Abstract

165,941. Coombes, W., and Pare, F. W. April 6, 1920. Yarns, warping and beaming.-Two or more beams for use in lace machines are wound simultaneously from a rotating mill 1, the beams 10, 11 being situated one above another at the front, rear, or front and rear of the mill, which drives the beam 10 by a belt 24, the other beam being driven from the beam 10 by toothed gearing or a flexible coupling, so as to rotate with the same angular velocity. Successive threads from the mill may be wound alternately on the beams, and a traversing sley 22 may be used. The beams are removably mounted at one end in open slotted bearings, one of which may be adjustable. The beams may be shouldered at one end, the opposite ends being connected by square snug-and-hole arrangements to shouldered shafts, which may be independently adjustable in an axial direction and are carried in adjustable bearings. The yarn is wound circumferentially around the members 2 of the mill, in independent lengths spaced along the mill.
