Abstract
164,936. Jarred, A. April 28, 1920. Dials.-In dial-changing mechanism for clocks, watches, &c. of the kind wherein the movements of the movable dial-to indicate twenty-four hour time-are effected by means of a cam adapted to engage directly with pallets carried by said dial and wherein also springs are tensioned by a cam, the springs are tensioned and the pallets controlled by one and the same cam. The cam 48, Figs. 1 and 3, is arranged to rotate once every twenty-four hours and in rotating tensions one or other of the springs 53, 54 and at the same time controls the pallets 50, 50<1> attached to the movable dial. When one of the pallets is released by the cam, the appropriate spring operates and forces over the movable dial. The Provisional Specification describes an arrangement in which one pallet is ccntrolled by two cams and also states that the movement of the dial may be effected by independent driving-mechanism which may be controlled, if desired, by the clock &c. mechanism or the dial may be moved by hand.
