Abstract

164,441. Craven, P. A. March 1, 1920. Handles for brushcs.-Brushes attached to their handles by pivotal joints are provided with two or more projections or spigots engaging in corresponding holes or sockets in one of the members of the joint. As shown in Fig. 1. the brush comprises a length of twisted wire A carrying the bristles B, and has two projections C engaging holes D, Fig. 5, in the member E of the joint F. Screws G may be provided for fixing the projections C in position. A transverse rib L on the member F engages one of a series of diametrical grooves L<1> in the member P of the joint, and the two members are fixed together in the adjusted position by a flyheaded screw M. The member P is carried by a socket H<1> fixed on the handle H. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 the projections C are fixed to the wood stock 0 of the brush. Three holes D may be provided in the member E and three projections on the brush.
