Abstract

Leader gear and other arrangements for assisting navigation.-In a system for indicating navigable courses, the conducting cable is formed with a loop at its end as shown in Fig. 1. In a modification, the earth return is replaced by a return cable. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which two parallel conductors are connected to generators of different frequency while, in a further modification, the generators are replaced by a single generator connected alternately to the parallel conductors. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the main conductor is provided with branches which may be connected at their outer ends to a second conductor. The receiving arrangements comprise conductors or frames placed at right-angles to each other and operating in conjunction with a movable coil connected to the detector, or several conductors radiating from a centre may be connected in pairs to the detector by means of a switch as shown in Fig. 18. Figs. 27 to 31 show receiving conductor arrangements for aircraft.
