Abstract
163,394. Marks, E. C. R., (Owl Supply Co.). Jan. 15, 1920. Copy-holders.-A copyholder which is adapted to be supported in any desired position in relation to the keyboard of a typewriter comprises a base-member 15 adapted to be clamped to the typewriter frame 2a by a screw 17, and having a socket 19 to receive a stud 20 to which is hinged a vertical arm 23, a sleeve 32 sliding on the arm 23 having pivoted to it a second arm 29 which supports a copyengaging device 37. The arm 23 is preferably telescopic, and the hinge-members connecting the arm 23 to the stud 20 and the arm 29 to the sleeve 32 are held in the desired position by clamping-nuts. The copy-engaging device 37 may be a wire frame having a shank adapted to enter a socket in the arm 29, the copy being impaled on a prong 39. In a modification, a wire 43, Fig. 5, is bent to form a shank 42 and has its ends terminating in coils 44 which are adapted to engage the cover of a note-book, or the wire may be hinged to the cover of the book.
