Abstract

In the process of deflocculating materials such as graphite, lampblack, clay, amorphous pigments, &c. by attrition in the presence of deflocculating agents, as described for instance in Specifications 7775/07, 7776/07, and 27312/07, [all in Class 90, Non-metallic elements], 6463/10, 4155/12, and 111,434, the total moisture content of the charge is kept below that necessary to saturate the paste. In the case of graphite the moisture should be below 32 per cent, and 24 to 27 per cent is preferred.
