Abstract

Antifriction-wheel bearings.-A bearing for the spindle of a rotary gas meter of the impulse and reaction type comprises friction wheels preferably four in number B, C, D, E, and an end thrust device carried in a housing containing oil. The housing is provided with an overflow pipe X for any water that may be condensed in the housing. The end thrust device consists of a friction wheel R contacting with the end of the spindle at a point slightly displaced from the axis of the spindle. Alternatively, the spindle may have a spherical pivot pressed against a plate of hard material.
