Abstract

162,411. Burdick, C. L. Feb. 3, 1920. Air-pressure sprayers.-An air brush comprises a cylindrical body 1 carrying a colour cup 3 and having the usual nozzles and needle-valve 6. At the rear of the colour cup, the needle passes through a gland 6<a>, access to which is obtained by means of openings cut in the side of the body. A central chamber is formed in the casing by means of partitions 1<a>, 1<b>. Mounted centrally in the chamber is a tube 9 which carries the needle 6. The valves are operated by means of a bifurcated finger lever 14 which carries a shaft 12, the squared central part of which carries two short arms 11 mounted so that the tube 9 passes between them. The lower ends of the arms 11 be against the stud 15 to operate the air-valve 16. a diaphragm 15a being provided to prevent escape of compressed air. The levers 11 bear against a tubular member 10 and compresses the spring 10<a> until it contacts with a flange on the tube 9, when further movement will open the needle valve 6 against the action of the spring 9<c>.
