Abstract

162,120. Quint, B. A., and Kearney, A. R. Feb. 9, 1920. Diaphragm vibrators.-In an electrically-operated diaphragm vibrator the base-plate a is stamped from sheet metal and a cup-shaped housing b is secured thereto by the hollow core c. A striking-pin d, attached to the diaphragm, passes through the core c. The vibrator comprises three springs f, f<1>, f<2>, the lowest carrying the armature g and the uppermost forming a stop, by the adjustment of which the note may 'be altered. The two lower springs f, f<1> carry the make and break contacts g<1>. The three springs are mounted on the distance-pieces g<2>, and a cover h<1> is secured in position by the bridge-piece h. The magnetizing-coil e is wound on a former and may be readily removed. The diaphragm is secured to the base-plate by bending over the flange i of the trumpet i<1>.
