Abstract

162,014. Cowell, R. E., and Wilkinson, A. Nov. 20, 1919. Drying floors.-A portable drying-floor for drying bricks, stones, ores, &c. consists of a hollow tray a, Fig. 1, with or without lagging, and made up of a single casting, plate &c. of iron, concrete, ferroconcrete &c. and through which steam or hot gases may be passed. The hot fluids may be passed through perforated or unperforated pipes d, Fig. 2, coils or the like, arranged within the tray. The upper surface of the tray may be flat or corrugated. A combination of several trays arranged in tiers or one behind the other &c. may be connected together by flange or cone couplings &c. or by right-angled connections formed on the front of one tray and passing through a sand trough arranged at the rear of the next. The trays may be transported on bogies, Cowan transveyers, or the like.
