Abstract
161,916. Crocco, G. A. April 15, 1920, [Convention date]. Selective perforating machines.-In the class of hand perforators in which punches are operated by drums having selective means, the drum is made up of thin discs, the peripheries of which are suitably gapped. The general arrangement of the machine is shown in Fig. 4 in which the punches are free to move in a frame 5, 6. The drum 2 is carried by an arm 12 pivoted at 11 and depressed by the lever 20. The discs of which the drum 2 is made up have a series of cut-away spaces 13 in which there may be one or more projections, each of which, when the drum is depressed, actuates the punch in its line of action. For setting the discs, an opening 15 is arranged in the casing, behind which figures or letters appear corresponding to the gap in position for punching. The Figures show four rows of punches and four gapped discs which are suitably distanced and remain in set position by the action of a spring ball and ratchet wheel.
