Abstract

161,772. Smith, C. G., Blount, J. H., and Latham, T. W. Feb. 13, 1920. Electric-lamp lanterns and casings.-An antivibration device for lamps for stage lighting and the like consists of means for holding the lamp supported by springs inside a tiltable and rotatable outer frame. In one construction, the lamp n, Fig. 1, is fitted in a casing d of rectangular shape having an open front with guides b at the sides adjacent the open front to receive glass or screens, while the sides and tops of the casing have ventilating slots d with hoods e. A reflector is also fitted inside the casing. One end of a tension spring h is connected to the casing a near each corner, while the other end is joined to the respective comer of an outer skeleton holder j mounted on arms k pivoted to a vertical pillar m. In a modification for reflecting the light at considerable inclinations, the opening and guides b, Fig. 5, are arranged obliquely across the front and bottom of the inner casing and the reflector c is fitted across the angle between the top and the back.
