Abstract

159,101. Drummond, A. B., and Davis, G. W. March 18, 1920. Doors for passenger vehicles.-The body framework of motor-cars &c. is formed of straight lengths of channel-section metal connected together by bolts, welding, &c., some of the channel members such as A, A<1>, A<2>, B, D, E, F being arranged with the channels facing outwards to receive wooden fillets or packing H to which the panelling W is secured, other channel members such as H, B<2>, C<2>, A<3>, A<4> being arranged to hold the dash-board K<1>, seat-back P, sideboards L, M, &c. The packing H is suitably curved or shaped on its outer face according to the form of panelling required. The packing H and other body members are preferably secured in the channels by screws T through the bottom thereof, the panelling being secured by screws w, Fig. 5. The doors are formed of outwardlyfacing channel members J provided with packing H to which the panelling is secured.
