158,733. Powell, B. F. S. Baden-. Nov. 20, 1919. Electrodes; electrolytes.-A cell consists of iron and carbon electrodes in an electrolyte consisting of plain water. The iron electrode may be in the form of a rod, plate, or cylinder and may form the outer vessel of the cell. The carbon electrode may be surrounded by a depolarizer such as a mixture of carbon and manganese dioxide in a porous pot or sack or in the form of agglomerate blocks. The materials may be made up as a dry cell. According to the Provisional Specification, the electrolyte may consist of a solution of sal-ammoniac, potassium hydroxide, salt, or other chemical substance.
