Description

(54) APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING CONCRETE AND DRY MIXTURES (71) We, ELBA-WERK MAS CHINEN-GESELLSCHAFT mbH & Co., a German Company, of 7505 Ettlingen/ Baden, Bahnhofstrasse 17-19 Federal Republic of Germany, do hereby declare the invention, for which we pray that a patent may be granted to us, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described, in and by the following statement:: This invention relates to apparatus for producing concrete and dry mixtures, the apparatus having a lower portion which forms a wall of a stockpile for component materials, which lower portion contains a weighing device for the component materials as well as an elevator track for a metering and elevating container, and having an upper portion which accommodates metering devices for binding agents and water, an elevated motor-winch, possibly a cabin with a control box as well as under certain circumstances further component parts.
Known apparatus of this kind has been established to a large extent in practice and finds use on building sites, in concrete producing factories and factories for finished component parts, that is to say wherever the demand exists for the production of concrete of constant quality in short repetitive intervals.
Such apparatus, however, suffers from the disadvantage that the applications of use thereof are limited. An appropriately designed apparatus had to be acquired for a certain output of finished concrete and there was no facility for a rapid as well as a cost effective change in respect of the features thereof.
The present invention provides apparatus for producing concrete and dry mixtures, having a lower portion which forms a wall of a stockpile for component materials. which lower portion accommodates a weighing device for the component materials as well as an elevator track for a metering and elevating container, and having an upper portion which accommodates metering devices for binding agents and water as well as an elevator motor-winch, wherein the lower portion is formed by a multiple-storey stand a wall of which constitutes the said stockpile wall and rear supports between which the said elevator track extends, and wherein the uppermost storey of the stand, being upper portion of the apparatus, carries a platform front portion, the apparatus also comprising any one of a plurality of platform rear portions of different construction respectively having one mixer or having two mixers or having one mixer and a silo for,dry metering or having only one such silo, the said front and rear platform portions being adapted to enable any one said rear portion to be connected interchangeably to the said front portion.
The lowest storey of the stand is preferably equipped with a metering box, a weighing device, and with a section of the elevator track which determines the weighing position of the metering and elevating container.
The platform front portion of the uppermost storey of the stand may suitably have disposed thereon two lateral support frames for the connection of the various interchangeable platform rear portions, the upper section of the elevator track, the weighing head of the weighing device for the component materials, and the control box, all of which remain the same for all platform rear portions.
An interchangeable platform rear portion fitted with one mixer only may comprise a frame understructure, longitudinal support members of which are connectable directly to an understructure of lateral support frames of the platform front portion, vertical fixing being effected by screwing brackets located on a mixer frame to vertical connecting members of the lateral support frames.
In contrast, an interchangeable platform rear portion fitted with two mixers may comprise two lateral longitudinal support members which receive a mixer frame and which embrace in a U-shaped manner an understructure of support frame of the plafform front portion and which are connectable to the understructure along the entire length of the latter.
An interchangeable platform rear portion fitted with a mixer and a dry silo may correspond to the rear portion which is provided for two mixers, the mixer frame supporting the dry silo instead of the one mixer. Thus the interchangeable platform rear portion for the accommodation of two mixers is in itself again capable of combination, in that, with the same construction, it receives either two mixers, or one mixer and a dry silo in place of the other mixer.
Furthermore, an interchangeable platform rear portion may be fitted with a single dry silo of appropriate size by screwing brackets arranged on the dry silo to vertical connecting members of lateral support frames of the platform front portion.
Finally, a head member for a cable dragging device may be provided on the uppermost storey of the stand.
The main advantages of the apparatus according to the invention are that owing to the multiple-storey construction of the stand, the level of the mixer platform is variable in height, and that, by splitting the mixer platform into a platform front portion which remains the same together with the uppermost storey of the frame and the upper portion of the elevator track, and into a plurality of separately connectable platform rear portions, the possibility exists of converting the entire apparatus rapidly and in a simple manner for the attainment of an increased output of concrete or for simultaneous or even sole dry metering for the charging of vehicular mixers, by the attachment of differently equipped platform rear portions.
These advantages are further supplemented to an essential extent in that the basic elements of the apparatus. that is to say the stand, the rear supports and the platform front portion with the upper section of the elevator track, are always maintained for the various platform rear portions.
The invention will be further described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which : Figure 1 is a side view of apparatus for producing concrete and dry mixtures. with an interchangeable platform rear portion which comprises a mixer: Figure 2 is a detailed perspective view of the interchangeable platform rear portion according to Figure 1, with a mixer; Figure 3 is a detailed perspective view of an interchangeable platform rear portion for the apparatus according to Figure 1, with two mixers; Figure 4 is a detailed perspective view of the interchangeable platform rear portion according to Figure 3, with one mixer and a dry silo; Figure 5 is a perspective view of a single large dry silo as an interchangeable platform rear portion, for the apparatus according to Figure 1.
The drawings show a stockpile wall 4 against which the component materials are heaped up by means of a cable dragging device 5, which wall 4 serves as a rearward termination of sector-shaped storage places 1 for component materials which are separated from each other by partition walls 2 and in which the component materials 3 are stored.
The stockpile wall 4 forms the forward termination, directed towards the storage places 1, of the apparatus against the component materials 3 and is constructed in the form of a stand 6 which comprises individual superimposed and mutually releasably connected storeys 60, 61 and 62. Together with rear supports 7, a section of an elevator track 8 disposed therebetween, and a metering box 9, the storeys 60 and 61 constitute the lower portion of the apparatus. For the purpose of forming the metering box 9 which may remain the same for all combinations of the apparatus, the lowest storey 60 of the stand 6 is fitted with metering closures 10, a weighing device 11 for component materials, and sections 80 of the elevator track 8, so that a metering and elevating container 12 may always travel into its lowest filling position.
The middle storey 61 of the stand 6 constructed as a distributor wall 4 may be built in different lengths, and when the rear supports 7 as well as the middle section of the elevator track 8 are appropriately adjusted, the total height of the apparatus can be thereby easily modified without a change of other, expensive parts.
In contrast, the uppermost storey 62 with a platform front portion 13, an upper section 81 of the elevator track 8. a weighing head 14 of the weighing device 11 for the component materials, a control box 15, elevator motor-winch 16, as well as under certain circumstances a cabin, forms the compactly assembled upper portion which remains the same for all combinations of the apparatus and to which may be connected differently equipped platform rear portions 17.
The support elements of the platform front portion 13, which are rigidly connected to the uppermost storey 62 of the stand 6, comprise two lateral support frames 18 with a frame understructure 19 and vertical forward connecting members 20. The frame understructure 19 extends to a separation location 21 (Figure 1) and there defines the rear end of the constant platform front portion 13 which forms a unit with the uppermost storey 62.
As shown in Figure 2 the platform front portion 13 is connected to the interchangeable platform rear portion 17 which supports on a frame understructure 190 a mixer 22, a cement weighing device 23, a water weighing device 24 and an outlet tube funnel 25, in place of which latter a concrete storage silo may be disposed. The connection of the interchangeable platform rear portion 17 to the platform front portion 13 is effected at a separation location 21, as illustrated in Figure 2, in that the frame understructure 190 is connected to the frame understructure 19 of the same width by means of screw connections 26, and at the same time brackets 28 and 29 which are disposed on a frame 27 of the mixer 22 are screwed to the vertical connecting members 20 of the lateral support frames 18 of the platform front portion.
During operation, the mixer 22 is charged from a transfer hopper 30 with the component material charges from the metering and elevating container 12 and with cement as well as water through an inlet 31, and delivers finished concrete through an outlet 32, either directly through the outlet tube funnel 25 or into an interposed storage silo.
The mixer 22 is mounted in the mixer frame 27 which rests on a cover 33 of the frame understructure 190 and is releasably connected to the frame connecting members 20 by means of the brackets 28, 29.
For the purpose of converting the apparatus to attain an increased output or to produce different kinds of concrete, the interchangeable platform rear portion 17 (Figures 1 and 2) is removed and in place thereof an interchangeable platform rear portion 170 (Figure 3) with two mixers 220, 221 is connected to the NONinterchangeable platform front portion 13.
For this purpose, and in order to compensate for the larger extent of a mixer frame 270, the latter has laterally arranged thereon longitudinal supports 34 which embrace in a U-shaped manner the understructure 19 of the lateral support frames 18 of the platform front portion 13 and which are screwed to the understructure 19 along the entire length of the latter, extending as far as the uppermost storey 62.
In this constructional form both mixers 22(), 221 are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the platform portions 13, 170 and are charged from a common transfer hopper 300 which comprises a transfer box 35 with a pivotable flap 36. The supply of the cement and the water is effected again through inlets 31 which are provided in both mixers. The finished concrete is likewise delivered through outlets 32, either directly through outlet tube funnels 25 or into interposed storage silos.
A cover 37 at the rear mixer frame 270 as well as on the longitudinal supports 34 provides a walkway on the interchangeable platform rear portion 170 and a protective railing 38 may be provided (see Figure 1).
As a further constructional alternative, it is possible to equip the interchangeable platform rear portion 170 with only one mixer 220 and a dry silo 39 (Figure 4) instead of with the two mixers 220, 221 (Figure 3), in order to be able to deliver selectively and adjacently concrete as well as dry charges for serving vehicular mixers.
For this purpose only the mixer 221 (Figure 3) is removed and the dry silo 39 inserted in its place. All the other elements of the interchangeable platform rear portion 170 remain the same, even the connection to the platform front portion 13 by means of the longitudinal supports 34, the transfer hopper 300 with the transfer box 35 and its pivotable flap 36 as well as the outlets 32.
Merely one section 271 of the mixer frame 270 is re-equipped and receives a bracket 272 for fixing the dry silo 39.
Finally, as a further constructional alternative, a single dry silo 390 as the interchangeable platform rear portion may be attached to the platform front portion, when only dry mixed material charges are to be weighed together and to be rendered available for delivery into mobile mixers, in which the addition of the mixing water and the mixing occur only during the transport.
As shown in Figure 5, the dry silo 390 is screwed by means of brackets 40 and 41 directly at the vertical connecting parts 20 of the lateral support frames 18 to the frame understructure 19 of the noninterchangeable platform front portion 13, the lower brackets 40 being connected to a cross member 42 for additionally supporting the silo.
The filling of the dry silo 390 is effected by means of the metering and elevating container 12 through an inlet 43, whereas the binding agent is supplied through a cement inlet 44. A closure 45 is connected to an outlet funnel 46 which serves for discharging.
Furthermore, a head member 47 (see Figure 1) which carries the cable dragging device 5 is located on the uppermost storey 62.
The apparatus according to the invention may be adapted to any of the constructional forms described above, while always maintaining its basic construction, with rapid and cost-saving conversion for the preparation of concrete and for the production of dry mixtures, which could be performed previously only with different apparatuses which were complete in themselves.
