Abstract

158,410. Blatchford, C. D., and Blatchford, W. A. Nov. 14, 1919. Limbs. artificial.- Relates to artificial legs, having pivoted feet, and consists in limiting the upward movement of the toe by means of a flexible tendon k fitted between a bridge j in the hollow calf member and a pin l in the heel, and restricting the downward movement of the toe by a resilient device comprising a metal rod n constituting a pressure member sliding in a hole p in the bridge, coacting at its bottom, end with the foot to the rear of the ankle joint, a resilient spring or rubber buffer q, being carried by the rod. The ankle-joint consists in a ball-bearing antifriction device of known type.
