Abstract

156,312. Gibbings, R. J. Sept. 29, 1919. Writing-desks.-A writing-desk, bureau, or the like, adapted to be fitted into the corner of a room, has a table portion carrying two vertical walls which lie adjacent the walls of the room, and inclined sides rising from the other edges of the table to meet the vertical walls, one or more of the inclined sides being hinged to the table to fold down and form a plane extension thereof. Figs. 1 and 2 show such a structure, the inclined flaps 4, 5 being supported by runners 16, 17 when folded down, while in the modification shown in Fig. 4, supplementary folding flaps 23, 24 are provided. A small horizontal platform 12, 32 may be provided, and drawers may be fitted in the upper part and in the supporting-pedestals. The invention is stated to be applicable to washstands.
