Abstract

Filtering.-In air filters having filter tubes. closed at the tops and suspended from a. bar which may be shaken to remove the dust from the tubes, the upper edge of each of the tubes a is formed with an internal shoulder f having a stiffening-ring of wire and against which a cover g of resilient material is held by a T-headed bolt k which is secured to the bar i. The cover is formed with a sloping outer edge h and is held tightly against the bar by the nuts l. Where a non-resilient cover is used, a spring is inserted between the bar and the head of the bolt or between the nuts and the bottom of the cover.
