Steam-generators.-A toy steam-engine consists of a boiler heated by a spirit lamp and provided with a pipe arranged to direct a small jet of steam on the blades of an impulse wheel. The wheel 11 is preferably formed by making radial cuts in a thin disc and turning the portions between the cuts at right-angles to form blades. A small fly-wheel 15 may be attached to the axle of the wheel 11, and the wheel may also lie in bearings secured to the boiler. The filling-hole 4 of the boiler is closed by a cork 5, which acts as a safety-valve.
