Air supply, regulating. - In a forced-draught front with side air valves and means for preventing opening of the fire-door when the valves are open, the valves are separately operable and each has its own door-locking device. As shown in Fig. 1, the door-lock for the left-hand valve is a bolt 4 connected to the valve handle 2, and that for the right-hand valve is a similarly operated bolt 6 mounted in guides 7 below the fire-door and having a projection 8 likewise adapted to engage the swinging side of the door. In a modification, the projection 8 is between the guides 7 and engages a downward projection on the fire-door at a point away from the hinge.
