Brush - holders.- In an electric motor the brush-holders 10 are carried on the removable support 1 of one of the shaft bearings and are provided with contact members adapted to bear upon insulated metal plates 18 secured to the motor frame, the circuit from the brushes being thereby automatically broken when the bearing support is removed. The contact members carried by the brush-holders may be spring-pressed plungers 15, Fig. 3, or may consist of flat springs, and the plates 18 on which the brushes bear are suitably dimensioned to allow for adjusting the position of the brushes.
