Abstract

155,200. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. July 21, 1919, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Toothed gearing.-In high-speed reduction gears of the floating or racking frame type, two driving-pinions A are mounted in separate rocking bearings B permitting independent movements of the pinions to obtain uniform distribution of pressure over the teeth in engagement. The pinions A are formed with journals a<1> and are screwed and keyed at one end only to the driving-shaft D, which is of comparatively small diameter so as to allow movement between the pinions and the shaft. The journals a<1> are mounted with slight axial play in two-part bearing bodies B, each formed with a slightly raised collar b<2> round its periphery seated within an opening in a fixed supporting-rib c<1> in the main bearing-box or casing C. Rotation of the bearing bodies B is prevented by pins b<3> loosely engaging sockets c<2> in the ribs c<1>, whilst movement other than in a vertical plane is prevented by suitable stop faces on the bearing bodies contacting with abutments c<3> in the casing.
