Abstract
An indented deformation on a metal plate which is accessible from only one side, e.g. on certain double-walled car parts, is removed in the following manner. First of all, a bolt (2) is fastened on the indented region (A), e.g. by adhesive bonding or welding. The bolt (2) is connected to a tension tool (3), and a mass (7) which is fitted on the tension tool and effects a striking action away from the bolt changes the indent into a protuberance. By hammering, the protuberance is then levelled out. Hammering can be carried out by means of an electric hammer which, on each strike, heats the working point by induction. <IMAGE>
