Abstract

1537362 Temperature responsive actuators TEXAS INSTRUMENTS ITALIA SpA 17 Feb 1976 [18 Feb 1975] 06174/76 Heading G1D [Also in Division H1] An actuator comprises an electric heater 1 supplied by two thermally and electrically conductive connector plates 6, 7 on each of which is mounted a respective bi-metal element 8, 9. The element 9 bears against a snap action switch contact 17 for mating with a fixed contact 18. The element 8 moves, via an extension piece 14, a first locking member 16 to a position where it engages a hole in a second locking member 11 to hold the latter against sliding and prevent the release of a door hook (not shown) in an opening 12. The heater 1 has a high value P.T.C. of resistance at its elevated temperature such that this temperature is substantially unaffected by voltage fluctuations.
