Abstract

1536947 Light guides STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 24 March 1977 [1 April 1976] 13131/76 Heading G2J The individual fibres 16 of first and second sets of optical fibres are inter-connected by means of a pair of flat plate members 11, 12, each plate member having an array of openings 15, each opening being of a size to receive and locate an optical fibre, and a pair of dowel pins 19 which engage openings in the plates to align the sets of fibres. A connector element, Fig. 4 (not shown), comprising short lengths of optical fibre terminated at each end by a plate member may be interposed between the plate members shown in Fig. 1.
