Abstract
1536769 Bending wire ELEKTROMAT VEB 17 Nov 1976 [9 Feb 1976] 47812/76 Heading B3E Apparatus for bending thin wires 17 comprises a lever 5 suspended so that its lower end is movable radially in any direction, an armature 7 on the lower end of the lever within a ring of solenoids 8 (two shown), with means 6 biasing the lever to a central position, and a rod 10, slidable in slideway 13 which is rotatable about a vertical axis, one end of the rod being attached to the upper end of the lever, and the other end to a bending die 14. As shown, die 14 is a ring surrounding the wire, and of a size to permit a wire head 16 to descend through the ring. In the position shown, the wire can be deflected in any desired direction by energization of a selected one or more of the solenoids. The support 18 for the vertical bearing 12 of slideway 13 is adjustable in height to adjust the clearance between the die and the head. The deflected piece of wire may be bonded to a semiconductor chip or substrate.
