1535474 Automatic control systems POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 3 March 1977 [15 March 1976] 08996/77 Heading G3R The height of a stack of sheets e.g. in a printing machine is maintained between desired limits by periodically driving the stack upwards by energization of relay 9 in dependence on detection at 1 that the stack has fallen below the prescribed minimum height, termination of the upward drive being by timing out of a multivibrator 5, or detection of maximum height at 2 depending on the speed of the machine and the selection of "thin", "normal" or "thick" on the sheet thickness selector 11. In the latter case the multi-vibrator output is overidden at high speeds of operation by resetting of bistable 8; and on selection of "thick" sheets by a signal at 11-1, both preventing the timing-out of multivibrator 5 from affecting the input X 1 by disabling NOR gate 6 and thereby making de-energization of relay 9 dependent solely on output of trigger element 3 in response to paper being sensed at the upper limit 2.
