Abstract

1534692 Cleaning xerographic surfaces SAVIN BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 12 Dec 1975 [6 Feb 1975] 51020/75 Heading B6C Photoconductive drum 32 has its working surface 30 cleaned by an endless belt squeegee 92, circulated so that it moves parallel to its intersections with the drum surface. While it is away from the photoconductive surface the belt passes through an auxiliary cleaning device, in which a jet of cleaning fluid is directed at it and it is wiped by a blade. The surface 32 may have cleaning fluid applied to it by a roller 12, having a porous outer layer 16. Preferably the roller is rotated in a direction opposite to that of the drum at their point of tangency so that it scrubs the surface 32.
