Abstract

1534397 Hydraulic accumulators GREER HYDRAULICS Inc 5 Dec 1975 [5 Dec 1974] 50046/75 Heading F1D An accumulator of the type illustrated in Fig. 1 (not shown), is sealed, after being charged with gas, by a cup-shaped member 43, 44, Fig. 2, which is driven into a bore 41b and expanded against the walls thereof by striking a ball 55. Before sealing, gas flows into the accumulator through a passage P and notches 53. Grooves 48 provide a good seal between the member 43 and the bore 41b. The cupshaped member has a longitudinal interior groove 56 which vents the cup as the ball 55 is driven in. Alternatively, bores may be provided through the ball, Fig. 5 (not shown).
