Abstract

1534165 Valves J A HUGGINS 30 July 1976 [1 Aug 1975] 31902/76 Heading F2V A clamp for controlling flow through plastics tubing 14 has a cam surface 16 on the end of a lever 10 which surface co-operates with an anvil 12 on the body 4. The cam surface has end portions 44a, 44b, which clamp diametrically opposite sides of the tube together, and a central portion 44c formed by surfaces 45, 47 which vary in inclination so that rotation of the cam surface varies the cross-section of the reduced flow passage 50. The latter may be fully closed by positioning the surfaces 45, 47 which are colinear opposite the anvil. The lever is journalled in recesses in the body into which recesses the cylindrical ends of the cam surface are snapfitted.
