Abstract

1534121 Bevelling glass sheets BANDO KIKO CO Ltd 20 Jan 1977 [23 March 1976 18 Sept 1976] 2310/77 Heading B3D In a glass plate edge beveling machine having supporting means 31 and pressing means 34 in the form of chain conveyers between which a glass plate is held while transported past a plurality of grinding means 26 for bevelling the edge portion of the plate, the supporting means consists of a plurality of unit members 32 and at least the part 87 adjacent the grinding means of the surface of each unit member facing the glass plate is raised from the remaining part of the surface so as to press the portion of the glass plate adjacent the grinding means in such manner that the plate is concavely curved towards the grinding means. The opposite part of each unit member distant from the grinding means may be similarly raised. The arrangement ensures that the lower part of the glass plate being ground and adequately supported and an even bevel is produced.
