Abstract

1,202,722. Endless conveyers. BROADWELL ENG. Ltd. 30 Jan., 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 4064/67. Heading B8A. An endless conveyer comprises a plurality of L-shaped elements 10 mounted on the links 12 of an endless chain 13. The forward edge of each element mounts an L-shaped bracket 15 and therebetween mount a resilient steel sheet 16 extending forward of the element for engagement with the radiused trailing edge of the leading element and thereby close the gap between adjacent elements. The elements may have side plates .19, Fig. 2 (not shown), to retain e.g. swarf carried by the conveyer and may also have flights to aid the conveying in inclined planes. In a further embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown), the sheet (16) has a step therein to rest against the forward edge of its element.
