Abstract

1533197 Automatic voltage control INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 26 April 1977 [30 April 1976] 17309/77 Headings G3R and G3X A controlled frequency, pulse width modulated, regulated DC-DC converter has a series switch Sl and a second switch S2 for shorting an inductor L when the sensed output voltage reaches a reference level. The first switch S1 is closed by a monostable circuit 4 responsive to the input voltage V;, clockpulses H, and a threshold set by the output tcc of a bi-stable circuit 2 which controls the second switch S2. The value of the threshold is determined by a time comparison circuit 3, so that the charging time of the inductor can be varied in dependence on the output power demand. Details of circuits 3, 4 are given, Fig. 2 (not shown). The bi-stable circuit 2 can be made responsive to average rather than peak output voltage by modifying the reference voltage V ref , Fig. 4 (not shown).
